Payroll Giving

Thursday, 16 August, 2018

At Viva, we are committed to improving citizens lives through the products we develop.

Our intelligent video analytics sensors gather data on transport systems, with a goal to make cities and towns more liveable. We work with public organisations and private enterprises to make the roads safer for pedestrians and cyclists, to reduce congestion and carbon emissions, to ultimately create safe, sustainable and enjoyable places to live.

As part of our commitment to improving the lives of citizens, we encourage our team to donate to their chosen charity with Payroll Giving. In less than a year of Viva offering payroll giving we were awarded a Platinum Quality Mark by HMRC to reward our employee’s commitment to charitable donations. This is because 20% of our team donate to UK charities via Payroll Giving.

Payroll Giving is a voluntary tax efficient way of donating to charities. The money is deducted from an employee’s payslip before tax and sent directly to either a Payroll Giving account, which each individual can distribute to their favourite charities, or directly to the charities chosen by the individual. Donating through payroll giving is preferred by most charities, as it reduces the significant burden of admin associated with receiving donations.

For Viva colleagues, setting up an account is super easy and it takes less than 10 minutes. As the money comes out directly from payroll, employees also do not have to worry about setting up direct debits or worry about money reaching their charities and donor accounts.

The Quality Mark award is due to the success of our payroll giving scheme and the number of employees that donate to UK charities. It recognises our commitment to fostering a culture of philanthropy and committed giving in the work place. As the company grows, we will continue to push Payroll Giving and we will strive to improve lives and continue supporting schemes and activities which give back to our communities.
